Forest River

Forest River is one of the giants of the modern recreational vehicle industry. The company was founded in 1996, which makes it a relative newcomer in an industry with roots that run over a century deep, but founder and CEO Peter Liegl quickly established his company as an industry leader. Numerous acquisitions marked the company’s early years, and it was then itself acquired in 2005 by by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway.

Throughout its various operations, Forest River claims 60 manufacturing plants, over 5,000 employees and $1.6 billion in revenues. Many of its acquisitions continue to operate as separate business units, but the Forest River unit itself has virtually all the bases covered as one of the few full line RV brands out there, offering a selection of travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, and even pop ups.
